Temple Residency Program
About the Program
Temple University Hospital’s two-year Pediatric Dental Residency Program is a postgraduate certificate program that emphasizes practical skills development through clinical, didactic, teaching, and research fundamentals. It offers clinical experience in comprehensive dental care on both in- and outpatient levels for children from infancy through adolescence.
The Residency is a collaborative learning experience with participation by the staff of Temple University Hospital, departments of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the Department of Anesthesia from St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Special Smiles, LLC, and the departments of Pediatric Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Cleft and Craniofacial Program from Cooper University Hospital. The Temple Residency Program offers 10 positions per year.
The program in pediatric dentistry is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation can be contacted at (312) 440-4653 or at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. The Commission’s web address is: https://coda.ada.org/en.
