How to Get to Our Allegheny Avenue Dental Office for Children
You’ll find our office off of East Allegheny Ave and Tulip Street on the second floor of the Commonwealth medical building. We provide specialized dentistry for kids in a convenient location in the heart of Philly. Our pediatric dental office is located at the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Tulip Street in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia.
We are conveniently located along Septa Bus Routes 60 and 25, with nearby stations including Allegheny Avenue & Aramingo Avenue. The Market-Frankford Line – Allegheny Station is just a 13-minute walk from our office. You can schedule your child’s appointment at our Allegheny office here.
What to Expect at Your Child’s Dental Appointment
When the doctor is ready to see your child, they’ll be taken back to our open hygiene area. Our dental assistants or hygienists will perform a thorough cleaning and flossing to eliminate any plaque that has built up and look for any signs of tooth decay. Our doctors will then inspect your child’s mouth for cavities and consult with you if any further treatment is recommended or necessary. Located in the same building as our Allegheny office, we are excited to offer orthodontic services through our partner practice, Children’s Dental Health Orthodontics. We’re proud to offer orthodontics for children in addition to our pediatric dental services. Our doctor, Matt Cassera, DMD, MBS, is specifically trained to work with orthodontics for kids and help them practice healthy habits at a young age. Why choose a pediatric dentist vs. a family dentist?
Pediatric dentists are specialists in treating the unique needs of children. A pediatric dentist has completed an additional 2-3 years of specialty training beyond dental school and treats the oral health needs of infants and children, including those with special needs. Bacteria can quickly ‘jump’ from one part of the mouth to another, thus resulting in infections and cavities in new erupting adult teeth.
