Dr. Dana Chianese is one of many dentists in her family! She grew up in Toms River, New Jersey and loves serving patients in Philadelphia. Dr. Chianese is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is also a part of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Philadelphia County Dental Society.

I’m a third-generation dentist in my family so I’ve known that I wanted to be a dentist since I was 5 years old and kids just make dentistry even more fun! Every day in pediatrics is an adventure and it’s so rewarding to shape the dental experiences of my little friends.

In 2020, she was appointed as a board member of the Oral Health Plan Advisory Group through the Pennsylvania Department of Health for a two-year term. This group is charged with leading oral health improvement efforts for the Department of Health as well as implementing those improvements.

It is my continued commitment to advocate for the oral healthcare needs of the children of Pennsylvania as the clinical director of the Temple Hospital Pediatric Dental Residency program through education and now with the OHPAG and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand the mission of the residency program.

Dr. Chianese graduated from Villanova University and went on to attend the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She later completed her general residency at Monmouth Medical Center and finished her Pediatric Dental Residency at Temple University Hospital. In both of her residency programs, she was distinguished as Chief Resident. Dr. Chianese practices oral sedation, dentistry under general anesthesia, zirconia crowns, and frenectomy. When she’s not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two very active boys as they explore the city of Philadelphia together. She also loves to cook, travel, and exercise- with two boys she says it’s necessary for survival!
